Voltyks ("we", "us", "our") takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have as a user of the Voltyks app and services. We keep this short and direct on purpose.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, and phone number, used to create and secure your account.
- Location: precise device location while the app is open, to show nearby chargers and let you list your own.
- Vehicle information: the make, model, and details you add to your profile, to match you with compatible chargers.
- Charger information: if you list a charger, the address, type, power output, and pricing you provide.
- Payment information: payments made through the app are processed by our payment partner Paymob. Your full card details are never seen, stored, or accessible to Voltyks.
- Transaction history: a record of charging sessions, payments, and wallet balances tied to your account.
- Usage and diagnostic data: analytics events and crash reports via Firebase, used to improve performance and reliability.
- Device identifiers: a unique identifier per installation used for analytics, push notifications, and fraud prevention.
2. How we use your information
- To operate the marketplace, matching drivers with charger owners, processing requests, and confirming sessions.
- To process payments, calculate fees, and manage wallet balances and payouts.
- To provide customer support and answer your questions.
- To improve performance, fix bugs, and develop new features.
- To send service notifications (request accepted, payment received, account updates).
- To detect and prevent fraud, misuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.
- To comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations in Egypt.
3. Who we share data with
We share only the minimum data needed and only with:
- Paymob, for processing card payments. Subject to Paymob's privacy policy.
- Google (Firebase, Google Maps), for analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, and map functionality.
- Apple, for App Store distribution and related platform services.
- Other Voltyks users: your first name and the details of a specific session are shared with the other party only when you book or accept a charging session.
- Authorities and regulators, only where required by Egyptian law or in response to a valid legal process.
We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or third parties. Ever.
4. Data retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. If you wish to close your account, contact us at voltyks.inc@gmail.com from your registered email and we'll process the request. Transaction records, invoices, and tax records are retained for the period required by Egyptian law.
5. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access, correct, or update your personal data from Settings inside the app.
- Request closure of your account by emailing voltyks.inc@gmail.com from your registered email address.
- Withdraw consent for optional data uses (such as analytics) by contacting support.
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Lodge a complaint with the appropriate data protection authority.
6. Security
We use industry standard security measures: HTTPS encryption in transit, encrypted storage for sensitive fields, and tokenised payment handling through Paymob. No system is perfect. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you in line with applicable law.
7. Children
Voltyks is not intended for users under 18. You must be 18 or older and hold a valid driving licence to use the service. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
8. International transfers
Some of our service providers (Google, Apple, Paymob) operate servers outside Egypt. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on the safeguards offered by those providers and applicable law.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced inside the app and, where required, by email. Continued use of Voltyks after a change means you accept the updated policy.
